Experiential Cognition Laboratory #xpclab
The Experiential Cognition Lab is a space for disseminating our understanding of Cognition and its relationship to Experience.
XPC LAB IS A SPACE FOR EMBODIED TRANS-DISCIPLINARY INVESTIGATIONS OF CURATED EXPERIENCES, EXPERIMENTAL PEDAGOGY, PERCEPTION, SENSING, ENACTING, MAKING, AND EXPRESSING THROUGH ART-SCIENCE PROJECTS.
The laboratory's scope and reach are targeted at pragmatic and theoretical collaborations between artists, researchers, scientists, philosophers, students, educationalists, and like-minded practitioners investigating questions of human conditioning and consciousness within various constructs of cognitive sciences ‘Opened Up’ to the arts and philosophy.
There is a clear divide between the objective facts of science and the subjective truths of human experience. This gap lies in a space where everyday experiences aren't fully explored by science alone. To bridge this divide, we need new artistic approaches to understanding the human mind, and its connection to consciousness, in spaces outside the laboratories of cognitive science. XPC Lab is a space for expanded investigations and practices to bridge this divide and challenge reductionist approaches through Art-Science practices.
XPC LAB is committed to scaffolding Consciousness research through structuring new Phenomenological Methodologies for quantifying ‘Qualia’ or Qualitative Experiences. Our Art-Science projects focus on producing quantifiable research data inspired by everyday lived experiences that can help bridge the gaps between Scholarship and Art-Science practices.

XPC LAB UPDATE!
DIGITAL (DIS)EMBODIMENTS
Digital (Dis)embodiments is a virtual group exhibition that delves into the concept of the body and its intersection with the digital realm in contemporary Indian art. In the digital space, dis-embodiment refers to situations where a person’s identity or presence is no longer tied to a physical body, where traditional understandings of the body are constantly reshaped. The exhibition investigates how the anthropomorphic body is rendered, reimagined and reconfigured within digital landscapes, reflecting on the artist's embodied agency in crafting the digital body.
Viewers are invited to immerse themselves in dream-like digital worlds that explore how artists engage with the human body and Indian thought while mediating the boundaries of religion, spirituality, physicality, and metaphysics through technology. Digital (Dis)embodiments challenges viewers to consider how digital curation reconstructs interactions between art, mind-body and spirituality in virtual environments, creating a new cosmology for digital beings in the disembodied space of computer screens.
Phenomenology in Pedagogy: An experimental framework for embedding philosophical structures of experience in fields of creative education.
