Experiential Cognition Laboratory #xpclab

The Experiential Cognition Lab is a space for disseminating our understanding of Cognition and its relationship to Experience.

XPC LAB IS A SPACE FOR EMBODIED TRANS-DISCIPLINARY INVESTIGATIONS OF CURATED EXPERIENCES, EXPERIMENTAL PEDAGOGY, PERCEPTION, SENSING, ENACTING, MAKING, AND EXPRESSING THROUGH ART-SCIENCE PROJECTS.

The scope and reach of the laboratory are targeted at pragmatic and theoretical collaborations between artists, researchers, scientists, philosophers, students, educationalists, like-minded professionals, and practitioners investigating questions of human conditioning and consciousness within various constructs of cognitive sciences ‘Opened Up’ to arts and philosophy.

LAB AS CONTEXT

An observable dichotomy of objective and subjective truths of experiencing human life lingers between the gaps of science and art, in a space where everyday {lived} experiences are far removed from the inquiries of scientific materialists. To address this gap between art and science, we need new ways in which people can access knowledge and understand the embodied human mind and its unmistakable relationship to Consciousness and the plurality of lived experiences. We need spaces for vast and varied questions and investigations relevant to the times, challenging reductionist approaches to something that is fundamental to our existence inescapable in every nuance of "Consciousness".

3.2.1_XPC LAB_HOW?1

XPC LAB is committed to scaffolding Consciousness research through structuring new Phenomenological Methodologies for quantifying ‘Qualia’ or Qualitative Experiences. Our Art-Science projects focus on producing quantifiable research data inspired by everyday lived experiences that can help bridge the gaps between Scholarship and Art-Science practices, toward progressive ideologies of Social Justice and Environmentalism.

ART | COGNITIVE SCIENCE | PHENOMENOLOGY

To foster and expand the role of ‘Experiences’ of Art and Architecture in the societal contexts of Knowledge production and dissemination that are Phenomenologically embodied, situated in contexts of everyday life of the first-, second-, and third-person.
